General Information
The Department of Basic Engineering Sciences aims to ensure that engineering students studying in undergraduate and graduate engineering programs have a strong background in the field of basic sciences. The physics, mathematics and chemistry courses given to undergraduate engineering students and the engineering mathematics courses given to graduate students are the most basic applications in this direction. Another application can be considered as courses opened for undergraduate and graduate engineering students to gain in-depth knowledge in a field of physics, mathematics or chemistry that they are interested in. In addition, the Department provides faculty support for physics, mathematics and chemistry courses in the curriculum of other units of the university. In addition to teaching basic science courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, actively participating in the research activities of the university is also an important part of the mission of the Department of Basic Engineering Sciences. The faculty members of the department aim to be pioneers in scientific research in their fields with the research projects they conduct, scientific articles they publish in respected international journals and scientific papers they present at respected conferences. In addition, another goal is to carry out joint scientific studies with faculty members in other units of the university, especially by developing multidisciplinary projects.
